Stainless Steel 316 Pipe Fittings are made up of the 316 grade of stainless steel material. This is an austenitic stainless steel that is used most next to the 304 material. It has chromium nickel and molybdenum in its composition which makes it corrosion resistant than the 304 material. The SS 316 buttweld fittings are suitable for piping that is deployed in corrosive environments and in high strength applications. There are different kinds of SS 316 weld fittings that are used in different types of applications. The ASTM A403 WP 316 elbow is one of the most commonly used fittings which changes the direction of the pipeline.
The elbows could be of 45 degree angle or 90 degree angle normally. There are WP 316 reducer types such as the concentric and eccentric reducers both reducing the diameter of the pipe. There is also the a403 WP316 end cap which is used at the end of a pipe to terminate the flow. These caps could be permanently fitted with welding or be temporarily fitted with flanges and bolting.
